Mission Statement
•
To build and provide sheltered accommodation for
people in Thailand with children the priority. This will be centred outside Chiang Mai city in Northern Thailand.
• To assist people of all ages with education and training, especially children from an early age right through to higher education.
• To support the Hill Tribe villages of Northern Thailand, especially the Lisu, Sgaw Karen, Hmong and the Lahu.
• To respond compassionately to any needy situation as they present themselves, such as housing, health matters and education. The emphasis in this sheltered home will be on providing a safe, secure and happy home for vulnerable people, hence the name: Baan Yindee - Joyful Home.
• It is intended to staff this home with local people who will be paid a just wage and thereby help the local economy.
• With education being extremely expensive in Thailand, most hill tribe families struggle to give their children any sort of decent education and for most higher education is a non-starter.
With the many levels of poverty in the Hill tribes the only way forward for young people is through education and that is something that will be very much part of this project both in the villages and in our sheltered Joyful Home.
